For my final year internship, I was given the opportunity to intern at the National Volunteer Philanthropy Centre, Company of Good.
My Experience!
As an Intern at Company of Good, I worked with corporates and helping them to do good through networking with other like-minded companies and to learn from each other.
My experience here made me aware to a whole new landscape of giving in Singapore. Corporate Giving was a completely foreign concept to me prior to interning here but now, I can confidently say I am slightly more knowledgeable on it. Becoming aware and learning more about Corporate Giving in Singapore has also improved my perspectives in other matters of the social science field.
Aside from being exposed to new things, I was also able to practice and pick up new skills through the planning of an online zoom event. Skills such as liaising with stakeholders and ensuring that the event meets the needs of our clients were among some skills I was able to pick up and refine. I was also able to improve other interpersonal skills such as communication, listening and empathy as I worked with and interviewed hawkers for a project and worked on cross-team projects.
Overall, my internship here has been a blessing that has allowed me to expand my knowledge and introduce me to new concepts while also helping me to improve some of my skills to be better equipped to contribute back to the community and workforce.
